I write upmarket fiction that takes place in Hawaii. The characters are usually Chinese-American and their struggles resemble my family's or my own.
I was previously agented from 2017-2019 for my novel LEAVETAKING and from 2020-2022 for my novel THE VOLCANO HOUSE.
Through The Word's Editor-Writer mentorship program, I am currently working with Kate Prosswimmer, an editor at Margaret K. McElderry Books (Simon & Schuster) to revise my first YA novel, THE AFTER PART, which is about a dysfunctional Chinese-American family's discovery of their patriarch's secret past.
Works in progress:
1. MAHJONG & MURDER (adult mystery)
2. IRIS AGAIN (adult spec fic/book club)
3. Untitled YA epistolary fantasy
This blog intends to provide tools for aspiring authors on the writing, querying, and publication process.
